Healthy Sourdough Pizza Recipe

I love pizza, but let's face it—most pizzas aren't exactly healthy. So, I set out to create a 100% nutritious version that still delivers on flavor. Using my sourdough bread recipe as the base, along with clean ingredients, this pizza is both satisfying and guilt-free.

Ingredients:

  • Sourdough Pizza Dough: Use my sourdough bread dough recipe as the base.

  • Pizza Sauce: Opt for a clean, organic tomato sauce with no added sugars or preservatives.

  • Raw Mozzarella Cheese: Choose raw mozzarella for a healthier, less processed option.

  • Fig Salami: A delicious, nutrient-packed alternative to pepperoni.

  • Veggies: Add your favorite vegetables—try bell peppers, spinach, onions, or mushrooms for added nutrients.

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:
Follow my sourdough bread dough recipe to make the base of your pizza. Roll out the dough to your preferred thickness.

  2. Preheat the Oven:
Set your oven to 475°F (245°C).

  3. Prebake the dough: Form the dough into pizza round or square and prebake 5-8 minutes.

  4. Assemble the Pizza:
Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over the prebaked dough. Add slices of raw mozzarella cheese. Top with fig salami for a flavorful twist on traditional pepperoni. Add your favorite veggies for extra nutrients and flavor.

  5. Bake:
Place the pizza in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  6. Serve & Enjoy:
Slice up your pizza and enjoy a guilt-free, nutrient-packed meal!

This healthy sourdough pizza proves that you can enjoy pizza without compromising on nutrition. With clean ingredients and the added benefits of sourdough, you can feel good about every bite!
