MANGO FRUIT LEATHER

Mangoes are in season from May to September, which means this mango fruit leather is a must try during summer.
Ripe mangoes can make all the difference when it comes to making this recipe taste extra delicious, since they provide all the sweetness that is needed.

This recipe only calls for three simple ingredients, so it is a way better option than most of the brands found in a store. No artificial flavors, corn syrup or dyes — only healthy, clean ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe mangos (peeled and sliced)

  • 1 tbsp. maple syrup

  • Juice from 1/2 lemon

Directions

  1. Add ingredients into blender. Blend until smooth.

  2. Pour mix into saucepan. Heat and stir often.

  3. Once bubbles begin to break, remove from heat and place on baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  4. Use scraper to spread the mix evenly throughout the parchment paper, forming a rectangle. Make sure the rectangle is thin, but not too thin that you can see the parchment paper.

  5. Dehydrate in oven at 170°F for approximately 4-6 hours. Fruit leather is done when it is no longer wet, and barely sticky.

  6. Once done, cut fruit leather (parchment paper included) into vertical rectangles. The paper will help protect them until they are ready to eat.

  7. Store in a container or ziplock bag, and refrigerate until ready to eat.

  8. Roll them up and enjoy!
